Graduate Research Opportunities

Dr. Richard E. Lucas is not accepting students for admission to the Social-Personality Program at Michigan State University this year (for those wishing to start in the Fall of 2024), unless as a secondary mentor. If you are interested in applying in future years, students who work in Dr. Lucas's lab gain exposure to research on personality and subjective well-being, along with a variety of research methods that can be used to investigate these topics. Admitted students are fully funded and are generally supported through a mix of teaching and research assistantships, along with University and external fellowships. The social-personality program incorporates a balanced schedule of coursework and independent research, and past graduates have gone on both to academic positions and applied research positions.
